Este nuevo marco temporal se abrirá en el mismo momento en que Servicios Funerarios tramite la documentación requerida por el departamento de Urbanismo para autorizar la activación de un servicio que, antes, va a tener que desmantelarse en cumplimiento de un auto de la Sala de lo Contencioso Administrativo Número 1 del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Castilla y León.Tal y como adelantó EL CORREO la pasada semana, el desmontaje de las instalaciones lo ejecutará la propia funeraria. Así se lo notificó en su momento al Consistorio mirandés al tiempo que le requería la presencia de un técnico que levantase acta del cumplimiento del fallo judicial.Ayer el alcalde incidió en que «tenemos comunicación de que va a ser así». Pero descartó, en principio, que la desinstalación vaya a ser un hecho en lo que queda de semana. «Probablemente sea la próxima. En cualquier caso, dispondrían de dos meses para hacerlo», aseveró.Fernando Campo incidió en que, una vez que la administración regional ha dado el visto bueno a la recalificación como Suelo Urbano Consolidado de una parcela que inicialmente tenía finalidad rústica, es el Ayuntamiento el que tiene todas las competencias para conceder la licencia de apertura del servicio que, en este caso, sería 'reapertura', puesto que estuvo funcionando durante casi un año, aunque los tribunales obligaron al Ayuntamiento hace quince meses a clausurar el servicio.La insistencia ante los tribunales de los vecinos que rechazaron el crematorio -los que residen en el entorno más inmediato del tanatorio y los del barrio de El Crucero-, abrió una nueva vía de recurso; exigían acabar físicamente con las instalaciones que lo albergaban.Finalmente se les dio la razón en cuanto al dispositivo mecánico, que se trasladaría a un almacén de Bayas mientras se resuelve la concesión de licencia para su vuelta al mismo emplazamiento. Porque el proceso que se seguirá a partir de ahora está reglado. En cualquier caso, los vecinos también han trasladado a los tribunales un recurso contra el cambio urbanístico llevado a cabo en la parcela.

Por este motivo los propietarios del resto de la parcela han propuesto dividirla en dos y ejecutar en su parte el proyecto de un edificio comercial, que bien podría ser un tanatorio-crematorio.Esta superficie ya fue objeto de una modificación en el año 2007 propiciada por los propietarios particulares, la firma Mármoles del Ebro. The borough council has recently completed major refurbishment works to Weymouth Crematorium. To mark the official re-opening, there will be an open day and re-dedication service at the Crematorium from 10am on Saturday 24 September. Government legislation means that where possible crematoriums must upgrade their inner workings to meet new environmental standards. Whilst this essential work was carried out, the council also made several improvements to the facility both inside and out, to make it more accessible and more welcoming for users. Improvements include creating a larger, wheelchair friendly entrance lobby with opening windows into the main chapel. As well as being redecorated throughout, the chapel now benefits from new covers for the cushioned seating and improved lighting. To improve sound quality for deaf people, the lectern has been repositioned on the raised platform and a new loop system installed. The area where the floral displays are viewed is now protected by a covered canopy with better lighting, creating a more weather resistant area. Residents are invited to come along and see the work for themselves. At 1pm there will be a welcome from Weymouth and Portland’s mayor Graham Winter followed by a re-dedication service by the Arch Deacon of Sherborne and Mr Leslie Scrase Humanist minister.A local firm, Matrix, was used to carry out the work on behalf of the council, helping to boost the local economy and provide work in Weymouth & Portland. TRAFFIC congestion and loss of ancient forest were among the concerns at a public consultation about plans for a new crematorium.Proposals for the multi-million pound crematorium went on display yesterday at Havant and Waterlooville Football Club.As reported in The News, The Southern Co-operative wants to build a state-of-the-art facility off Bartons Road, Havant.The overwhelming message was that the facility is needed to take the strain off Portchester Crematorium – the busiest crematorium in England.But there were concerns about rural roads, particularly the B2148 and B2149, becoming congested, and about parts of the ancient Forest of Bere being affected.Marge Harvey, the councillor for Rowlands Castle, said: ‘It’s definitely needed in this area, there’s no doubt about that. The ancient woodland, that’s the most important thing.‘It’s been there for many, many years and they say it won’t affect it, but it bothers me that if you put a building in, it could affect the root system of the trees.’Penny Tiller, 30, of Hedge End Walk, West Leigh, said: ‘My personal view is it’s something that’s needed and required. I have been to a couple of funerals and they have been really rushed. You feel like you are being pushed out of the door.‘We lost our son two years ago and I am not sure that explaining to children that you live by a crematorium would go down so well. But from what I can see they have done everything to make sure you can’t see it.’Barbara Barrell, 62, from Rowlands Castle, added: ‘I’m really impressed.’The new building would measure about 4,200sq ft, include an environmentally-friendly green roof, and be surrounded by a tranquil memorial garden and a wildflower meadow.The crematorium would be surrounded by woodland on three sides and company bosses have assured people no trees would be chopped down and, in fact, more would be planted.There will also be no noticeable emissions from the 6ft-tall chimney.The woodland is home to the rare Bechstein’s bat, but officials have said they are working with conservationists to minimise any impact to the creature’s habitat.Graham Lymn, head of operations at The Southern Co-operative, said the firm was planning up to five funerals each day, with each service lasting 45 minutes.He said: ‘The current facilities that are available for bereaved families are very busy, and families have to wait some time for funerals.‘There’s a lot of congestion up there. So könnten mit den bestehenden Anlagen die vorgeschriebenen Grenzwerte der Luftreinhalteverordnung nicht mehr eingehalten werden. Ausserdem habe das heutige Krematorium eine veraltete Technik, die sehr viel Energie verbrauche und aufwendig im Unterhaltsei. Vrijwel alle raadsfracties gaven dinsdagavond aan dat met die uitrit het eerste obstakel in ieder geval uit de weg is, maar dat er nog veel moet worden uitgezocht voor er een afgewogen besluit kan worden genomen. Ook in de commissie zelf kon wethouder Van der Hoeven veel twijfels en onzekerheden nog niet wegnemen. Er is onder meer behoefte aan meer informatie over draagvlak, eventuele alternatieve locaties en nieuwe methodes van lichaamsverwerking zoals resomeren. De publieke tribune zat vol met verontruste buurtbewoners. Ook het bestuur van Weesp tegen Crematorium was van de partij. Marja Becker liet de raad nog eens weten dat er veel weerstand is tegen een crematorium op de Utrechtseweg, vanwege de verwachtte overlast en aantasting van het landschap en hun woonomgeving. De kans is groot dat de raad het college volgende week wel de opdracht geeft om de onderbouwing van het plan verder uit te werken, maar dat een echt besluit pas over een paar maanden wordt genomen.
WORK to connect the new Abbey Stadium Leisure Centre and state-of-the-art energy saving equipment at Redditch Crematorium is due to begin next week.The pipe work installation, which will send the heat generated from a flue gas cleaning process to the new centre, will take around two to five weeks to complete.The pipes will run under the road that goes through the cemetery and will not affect any of the graves. The scattering area, in which part of the pipe will run, will be sensitively excavated with any original turf being re-laid. Noise and disruption will be kept to a minimum. Visitors to the cemetery should note that during this time, part of the one way system will be impassable for up to two weeks but all graves will be accessible by foot.Signs informing customers and visitors of the disruption will be put up in the crematorium grounds to help keep people informed of what work will be done.Redditch Council’s portfolio holder for local environment, Councillor Brandon Clayton, said: “This is a vital part of making this innovative new way to save energy work, but we understand that any work taking place in the Cemetery has to be treated sensitively.“This is why we hope to complete the work over a short period time and will take into account the needs of people visiting or using the crematorium and cemetery.”The project, which won the council a Gold award at this year’s National Green Apple Awards, will use the crematorium’s flue cleaning process that stops harmful mercury and acids being released into the air.This cleaning process involves gases from the flue being cooled from around 800 degrees centigrade to around 140 degrees centigrade, creating significant heat loss.As part of the new process, this heat will be transported to the adjacent leisure centre.
